“ The Best Mediterranean food in Costa Mesa I heard about Pom and Olive and was baffled by all the top reviews. I was in the area shopping at South Coast Plaza today so I decided to swing by. They have a large entrance and plentiful parking out in front. The menu consists of Lebanese , Turkish and Greek cuisines. They have food from around the Mediterranean and some unique appetizers like Indian samosas with potatoes and amazing Greek Spanakopita. I ordered the cauliflower with tahini sauce and Spanakopita as appetizers. The fried cauliflower was crispy , thick and cooked to perfection. The tahini sauce has a unique spice flavor to it. Overall it amazing. The Spanakopita was very filling and filled with delicious melted cheese and green herbs with Spinach. I ordered the beef koobideh kebab plate. I'm not lying, I have tried many restaurants for beef koobideh but this place nails it. The kebabs were so juicy , moist , flavorful and cooked to perfection I still can't believe this entree comes with grilled vegetables and rice only costs $15.00 . The owners are Lebanese and created a beautiful restaurant with so many amazing dishes from the Mediterranean, Middle East and South Asia. Great food , great ambiance and great prices ! One of Costa Mesa's best restaurants. ”
“ Since a friend took me to Pom & Olive, I'm addicted. The food is great and fresh. I'm a person with garlic sensitivity, and this place is perfect for me to eat. I do not get any reactions, and the food is just delicious. I usually start with a tabbouleh salad and some hummus and pita. Both the regular and spicy hummus are delicious. They have a lot of delicious non-alcoholic drinks that are very thirst quenching. The regular salad that may come with your meal is delicious. I especially love the salad dressing. The rice is fresh and the meats are very well made. My friend loves the chicken and salmon kabobs. I definitely recommend. ”
“ I have been coming to this place since it opened. I come here at least one to two times per month and it's not unusual for me to come weekly or a couple times a week. The food is just wonderful!!! The service is very good. And the atmosphere is extremely friendly. You feel like you're coming to visit friends. They know who we are , greet us, ask about friends and family, etc. (not in an invasive way at all). The woman who owns it always has a smile on her face. It's a family run place. But the place itself is quite large and spacious. There are a number of countries in the world that I have not been to. But I can pretty safely say that I'm a world traveler. And I would say that this is one of my favorite places in the world to eat at. And on top of that the prices are very reasonable. I always bring friends here from out of town and locally. And so far no one has nit liked it. Everyone has loved it ”
“ I went here and got a Taste of Mediterranean, Lamb Shank, and Baklava. One thing that was strange was how early the baklava came. In fact, it was the first thing that was brought out. I enjoyed the Taste of Mediterranean. The tzatziki is super fresh and tangy. The hummus was smooth and the babagonoush is mild but still good. The pita is warm and good but unfortunately there was not enough pita for all of the spreads. My favorite would be the tzatziki. The lamb shank was huge. Even though I like lamb racks better, this was a good piece of lamb. It was super tender and the meat gals right off the bone. I really liked the salad dressing and the stewed vegetables (bell peppers and carrots) as well. The mashed potatoes were average. The baklava was above average. I like the crunchy top layer a lot. As expected, it was super sweet. This baklava had a layer of pistachio in the middle that helps offset the sweetness. I haven't seen this often in the other baklavas that I've had before. I really liked the outer layers a ton. ”
“ I really enjoyed my chicken shawarma wrap! It was a great meal at a reasonable price. The chicken portion was very generous. I got the garlic sauce on the side because I was not sure if I would like it but it was great (not overwhelmingly garlicky). I also got tzatziki sauce and that was great on it as well. The wrap came with a ton of chicken, cabbage, and pickles. It also came with a salad. The salad was fresh but tasted like there was no dressing. I would recommend they put the dressing on the side so you can add what you want, and also especially with takeout orders so that it doesn't get soggy. I look forward to trying more items! I'd definitely get this again. ”
